Police are responding to an incident on Clevedon-Kawakawa Road, Kawakawa Bay.
As a result, a section of the road has been closed and cordons are in place.
Diversions are currently located at the intersection of Kawakawa-Orere Road and Clevedon-Kawakawa Road, and where Turei Road intersects with Clevedon-Kawakawa Road.

Update – Serious Crash, SH 1, Waihola

Police can confirm that two people have died following a serious crash near Waihola this morning.
A further three people were injured in the two-car crash, two seriously and one moderately.
The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
Please note that these diversions are not suitable for heavy traffic, and those vehicles are advised to expect lengthy delays.

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on SH 1 just south of Waihola.
Police were notified of the two-car crash at about 9:15am.
Initial indications are that there are serious injuries.
The road is closed, and diversions are in place.
Northbound traffic is being diverted along Phosphate Road, and southbound traffic is being diverted through Taieri Mouth.
