One person sustained serious injuries in the single-car crash, which occurred around midday.
The circumstances of the crash are now under investigation.

State Highway Five is closed at Glengarry Road and at Hill Road following a single-vehicle crash.
Police were alerted to reports of a truck and trailer unit overturned around 4:40am.
There are no reports of any injuries, but the stretch of road is expected to be closed to all traffic for some time while the scene is cleared.
Light vehicles will be diverted down Seafield Road and onto Glengarry Road.
Heavy vehicles will need to seek alternative routes.

These works will be to complete general finishing works following installation of rumble strips, better roadside signs and long-life line markings on a number of East Waikato state highways. Over the last couple of months our contractors completed close to 140km of road marking, 50km of rumble strips, and around 220 new or replacement signs.
This work is part of a programme to make regional state highways safer through a range of low-cost, high-benefit safety improvements.
Works will be carried out between Mackaytown and Waikino in the Karangahake Gorge between 9pm and 5am from Monday 28 and Wednesday 30 June, subject to weather.
During work hours the road will be closed for 45-minute periods and will reopen for 15 minutes to allow traffic through. The first road closure will be at 9pm each evening.
Work will be carried out between Pipiroa and Orongo between 9pm and 5am from Wednesday 23 to Wednesday 30 June.

Work will take place between 7pm and 6am on the nights of Sunday 27 and Monday 28 June, to undertake maintenance on the tolling gantry structure.
The work will result in closures between the SH2 Domain Road interchange and SH33/SH2 Paengaroa roundabout.

The TEL Toll Road will be open and operating as normal on the morning of Tuesday 29 June at 6am.

Waikato System Manager Cara Lauder says the suspension footbridge will sit approximately five metres downstream of the existing single-lane state highway bridge and will include a path across the berm to connect it with the road.
“This will allow for a safer journey for walkers and cyclists in Tairua, especially during the busy holiday periods.”
Construction is hoped to start in the next few weeks, subject to consents and other factors.
The single-lane highway bridge over Graham’s Stream is expected to be replaced in the future. The bridge in its current state is safe, regularly inspected and receives regular maintenance.
Waka Kotahi will keep the community informed before decisions are made about future replacement. There’s a possibility a new bridge could include a shared path for walking and cycling, at which point the footbridge would probably be removed.

Road diversions for light traffic are currently in place on SH30 (near Pureora Forest) from Barryville Road to Maraeroa Road.
We have also restricted heavy traffic on SH30 (East of Bennydale)
A tanker has crashed on its side and one lane is blocked currently.
The road will be closed for some time to all traffic later today to allow for the removal of this over turned tanker.
The driver has suffered only moderate injuries and is being treated at hospital.

Tanker crash on Waitaramoa Road, motorists to avoid area
The plan was to smooth the bridge deck to enable the speed restriction to be uplifted.
The next closure is now planned for Sunday evening—11pm, 20 June—through to 4am Monday morning, 21 June. The speed allowed on the bridge will remain at 30km/hour in the meantime.
Overweight and over-dimension permit vehicle drivers need to continue using the alternate local roads at this stage.

Since the significant flooding of late May, the damaged pier had stabilised, as shown by monitoring and data analysis.
Waka Kotahi will also install electronic monitoring equipment on Sunday evening to allow remote monitoring of the structure which will avoid more traffic closures.
Waka Kotahi is aiming to complete the bridge pier repair in the next two months.
